Instructions to authors

Manuscript preparation

Authors should aim to communicate ideas and information clearly and concisely, in language suitable for the moderate specialist. Experimental paper should contain sufficient detail and references to public sources of information to permit others to repeat the work. Authors should cite publications that have been influential in determining the nature of the reported work. Information obtained privately, as in conversation, correspondence, or discussion with third parties, should not be used or reported without explicit permission from the investigator with whom the information originated. When a paper has joint authorship, one author must accept responsibility for all correspondence; the full postal address, telephone and fax numbers, and e-mail address of the author who is to check proofs should be provided.


*Research Articles: Original research articles by single or multiple author are accepted under this category. Please adhere and follow instructions for authors strictly while preparing and sending the manuscript.

*General and Review Articles: Detailed and comprehensive review and general articles are accepted under this category, provided good amount of care is taken while citing the references and plagiarism is avoided.

*Correspondence and Short Communication: Short communication includes brief report, ideas, views and opinions of authors. The write-up should not exceed more than 1500 words. This section is meant for quick publication.

Papers should conform to the following general layout:

Title page: This should include title, authors, affiliations, email, telephone and fax numbers.

Abstract: This must be on a separate page. It should be about 100-200 words long and should summarize the paper. The abstract should be followed by up to six keywords additional to those in the title identifying the subject matter for retrieval systems. Section headings First-, second-, third-, and fourth- order headings should be clearly distinguishable butnot numbered.


In the text, references should be in the following forms: (Singh, 1988); (Prasad and Yadav, 2006). When papers are by three authors, use all names on the first mention and thereafter abbreviate to the first name et al. For papers by four or more authors, use et al. throughout. The list of references must include all publications cited in the text.

All photographs, graphs and diagrams should be referred to as a ‘Figure’ (avoid using “PLATE”) and they should be numbered consecutively (1, 2, etc.). Photographs should be of minimum resolution of 300 dpi and supplied in TIFF or JPEG format. Please note that PNG, Powerpoint and doc files are not suitable for publication.


Each table should be numbered consecutively (1, 2, etc.) and should be cited in the text.


Proofs will be sent to the corresponding author. One corrected proof, together with the original, edited manuscript, should be returned to the Publisher within 72 hours of the receipt by email.


Authors will be asked, upon acceptance of an article, to transfer copyright of the article to the Publisher. This will ensure the widest possible dissemination of information under copyright laws.


Responsibility of the author to obtain written permission for a quotation from unpublished material, or for all quotations in excess of 250 words in one extract or 500 words in total from any work still in copyright, and for the reprinting of figures, or tables from unpublished or copyrighted material.
